My Coaching

Coaching is a partnership between coach and client, in a thought-provoking and creative process, that inspires the client to maximise their potential. I strive to provide a warm, safe, interesting and intellectually challenging environment for my clients, as we work closely together to achieve their goals. I am a:

Values-based coach

I believe firmly that our actions, thoughts and behaviours are deeply connected to our core values. Part of our work together would likely involve exploring your own values and ascertaining how they express themselves within your daily life, your preferences and your blind spots/obstacles too. I lead with my values: gratitude, humility, courage, compassion, curiosity, and connection. Our work together would involve identifying your own, and aligning your goals and actions with them moving forward.

Integrative coach

My coaching and counselling training involved assimilating theories from a range of industries and modalities (e.g sports coaching, performance coaching, psychology, psychotherapy). I don’t believe that there is only one correct theory - rather that there is great benefit from having a broad toolkit which I can integrate and leverage to personalise my coaching, tailor it to my clients’ needs, and make it relevant and effective.

Relational coach

I believe that the success of a coaching relationship is ultimately dependent on the relationship between coach and client. One can use many exercises and techniques but if there is a lack of trust, respect, empathy, authenticity and/or positive regard for one another, then the benefit of coaching will be limited at best. We need to be a good ‘fit’. To that end, I always offer a free one hour chemistry session for us to get to know one another, and establish whether we think we will work well together. Beyond that, open dialogue and healthy feedback are essential to a long and productive relationship.

My on-going research with University College London (UCL) allows me to combine the latest in psychology and neuroscience, as well as counselling and coaching practices, to help clients learn, grow and excel. My dissertation focused on decision-making in the face of ambiguous evidence, confirmation bias and belief polarisation. Understanding the different factors which contribute to the quality of our decisions, their outcomes, and how we take risks, is pivotal to improving how we do this. Staying close to the latest ideas, and having access to the most recent findings in these areas, enables me to keep evolving and improving my approach and the knowledge I share with clients.

Finally, my family and my charitable work with Great Ormond Street Hospital keep me grounded and grateful. Balancing these demands provides priceless perspective in my coaching and a deep understanding of what many of my clients experience in daily life too.

My clients â€‹

I work with a range of clients across senior management and C-Suite level. They span many roles, mainly across finance, insurance, healthcare and TV/media industries. Together, we work on a variety of goals including leadership challenges, relationship management, career transitions and promotions, and generally increasing self-awareness and performance.

My current clients are based in London, Paris, Montreal, New York, Dubai and Kuwait.  I coach in English, French and Arabic.

Support & Confidentiality

I view coaching as a true partnership that helps us to challenge our thinking, learn and grow, in a professional, safe, supportive and empathetic environment. It requires authenticity and trust. It is not a substitute for counselling or psychotherapy, but it can of course support your mental health, and our conversations will be treated confidentially, unless we agree otherwise.

Logistics

I offer coaching sessions in person and online, though I do recommend at least one in-person session where possible. I travel in and around Central London to accommodate this. For new clients, a minimum of three sessions is required. A block of six sessions is recommended to allow a full cycle of understanding of behaviours, values and for change to unfold. In terms of frequency, meeting every one to three weeks is ideal in order to maintain progress and build momentum. My coaching engagements usually span six to twelve months but many clients also reap the benefits of an open-ended coaching relationship.
